
BIOGRAPHY
Currently a Year 3 graduating Diploma in Music (Performance) student at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) Singapore, Marvin is an active music performer and educator in the Singapore arts scene.
Originally starting on the Trumpet before transiting to the Clarinet, he is a versatile musician proficient in both Brass and Woodwind performance. He is currently studying under Mr. Tang Xiao Ping, Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) Principal Bass Clarinetist, and was previously studying under Mr. Lau Wen Rong, SSO Trumpeter.
Marvin has experience as a freelance band instructor and sectional tutor with various ages. He has worked with school bands such as Anglo-Chinese School (Junior), Casuarina Primary School, Chung Cheng High School (Yishun), Broadrick Secondary School, and Anglo-Chinese Junior College.
Outside of his studies, he actively volunteers his time to give back to the community. He has also taken on leadership roles in New Gen Wind Symphony, where he serves as Vice-President, Member of the Executive Board and Clarinet Section Leader, Head of Committee in the Anglo-Chinese School Wind Orchestra, and in the Digital Marketing department of Musicians' Initiative.
Marvin is also the founder of ClarineTunes, a clarinet ensemble community interest group.
